It is an absolute night/day difference. My neck would break out, my face burned and I always got ingrown hairs. Since swapping to a DE my face feels amazing, no sensitive skin, no razor burn, no in grows. Steve(po1911) is reporting the same results. _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

We are trying various blades, a Murker HD is the best razor to get though. It will run about $30, the badger brush can be had for $12, use an old cereal bowl to make the lather in. Buy proraso shaving cream for $10 online and some Derby blades and you will be set.
Id say for $60 invested you will be set up, good news is you would not have to buy a thing for 6 months _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

Yeah...
I know it takes time but again night/day difference. The lather you whip up yourself actually softens the hair, is much slicker and moisturizes your face rather than drying it out.
Once you get used to it you can knock it out in 2-3 minutes _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

proraso cream, it comes in a green toothpaste looking container and can be ordered online.
Shake the badger hair brush out, after it has been soaking in hot water, and put a 1" sized line of poraso in the bowl. Start to whip it in a circular motion with the brush until you get a lather with a cool whip type consistency.
If correct it should be slick as owl shit.
Let it stay on your face for at least 2 minutes before shaving so it can soften the beard _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

Oh snap, I seem to remember being called a pussy by a certain person.
check out this DE and the history behind it. I ordered one for about $10 US.

They are a knock off of a vintage Gillette, guess they had more to worry about than breaking patents
The reviews online are very good. Decent low cost razor with a bit or history : _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.

Understandable.
Don't know if I mentioned it...
I worked my way into the feather blades. 3 shaves in, sharp bastards but no where near as sharp as they are hyped up to be. The Gillette blades are great, but for the $ Derbys are the best overall blade.
I rate feathers are the sharpest, but razor burn can happen much quicker.
Gillettes are almost as sharp but a bit more forgiving when it comes to razor burn. Downside is the blades run about 0.50 each. They aint THAT good. Derbys are almost as sharp as the Gillettes, keep a edge for 4-5 shaves and can be had for 0.17 each.
How are your blades working out? _________________ If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.
