DUI while drunk and DUI while stoned are totally different. I have a good friend who is actually quite good at life. His old man died when he was 20 and he had a choice. Take over the family nursery or let it go. He took it over and has busted his ass over the past 8 years. 3 years ago he caught an unlucky break. He was driving a fully loaded Isuzu flatbed towing a bobcat and 500gallon water tank. Every thing was fine untill 2 illegals decided they wanted to turn at the last second. Sure their Ford Escort stopped in time but did the flatbed? NO. There were skid marks 50 feet long before he pulverized those little beaners who had no business being here. If they were legal the punishment may have been more harsh but if they stayed in their own goddamn country this shit would never have happened!!! IMO my friend got off easy for a crime that never should have been committed.
