One year ago this week the town I live in, and many others around were hit with the worst floods in our history. Two out of the three house my family owns had basements full of water, and my parents had water in 1 room that is ground level. I can say it was the craziest week I have ever experienced, my family was fortunate to come out of this without any major damage. I just wanted to say this and share some pics. Also want to add that the river crested about 3 feet higher then what they predicted, so nobody expected anything close to this.

The pic with the skid loader next to the dirt pile you see a pile of dirt.....well that pile was in my basemen, it was forced through a 2ft diameter hole that was made in my limestone foundation.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Thats wild. I helped with hurricane katrina relief but nobody there has a basement. Makes you glad to have a lifted truck huh, lol.

yea the water was right up to the bottom of the cab on my chevy as you can see in the pics, it only had a body lift .

That was fucking nuts. The Gf's bro and I were going to drop his trailer and yota off to a guy that lived in damn near Nebraska. We only made it 10-15 miles into Iowa on 80 and then Johhny Law turned us around. We took a bunch of hillbilly dirt roads and got lost as fuck. As soon as we made it onto the highway the powerstroke took a dump and we were stranded just outside Galveston IL. That was a $500 tow home. Laughing

You must be around Des Moines? We had some guys working down there just after the floods. Said the place looked like hell.

being down here in houston, we were without power for 12 days, that was horrid, but i feel your pain on having your home flooded, that hurricane was definitely a eye opener for many.

it was not that bad all the water in our basement was pretty clean when it was come in, no sewer backup just seepage through the foundation I was the one taking all the pics so I was in all that water.

last flood we had, it went into peoples septic tanks (we live out in the country) and smelled like ass
