What is the best mounting location that will yield the best results? I have the URL="https://www.beltronics.com/store/vector-995.html"]Beltronics 995[/URL]. Also what are the best settings to run it on. It has; highway, city, autoscan, and a few others. I usually just run it on autoscan, is that the best? I have had it for almost a year now and it has been great, just wondering.

On the lower windshield like i have been running it:

Or right below the rear view mirror:

I have the hard wire mount so either way there isnt a wire running to it from the cig lighter. I already have the wire ran to the lower dash, but running it through the pillar up to the rearview would not be a big deal. Which ever one will give me the best results.

I run mine like you have yours in the first pic. I've had this Cobra for a little over a year and it's fucking awesome. I swear it will pick cops up over a hill through traffic atleast 1 mile out. Also I always run mine on Highway mode. The city mode is less sensitive from my expierence.

I have kept mine lower but kinda liked it up higher. Just wondering how it would work up higher. I know they have rearview camera mounts for the valentines so they are used up there. I see some people have their detectors mounted like in the middle of their windshield with the power cord dangling down. I want a clean install.

I would think autoscan would muff out the bunk signals. When I drive by Walmart I get an X alert, a warning sign on the tollway will give a K Alert and Piggys set it off as KA Alert. I think autoscan would not detect on those signals that are not cops.

For somereas Guarantee insurances glass deductible is high. THey will pay to get it repaired, but a replacement is high. Im making my dad replace it since he broke it. He cracked it twice. He drove my truck twice. I think it is from the sun reflecting off of his bald head and piercing the glass. lol.

I have my garmin on the left side, so I will either mount it on the right side or right in the center where I have it now.

Because I wired up a digital tv converter and antenna to my truck. I can watch tv on my double din. Used a inverter that I wired up behind my dash and a switch to kill the power to it.
