Ok so my computer worked flawlessly until yesterday when I tried to install the last fan and a cold cathode light which I tried to hook strait to my power supply since I only have 2 connections for fans on the mother board, well I plugged in a cable to my modular power supply which just had the one connector not 3 like another one I had just to have less wires, but it was also a male not female, my roommate said that that cable is actually for a fan. Well now when I turn it on it doesn't beep and the LEDs on the buttons don't turn on and it doesn't show anything on the screen.....I disconnected everything and re installed everything and does the same thing even with the fan and light out. Now my roommate is saying that cable was for a PCI express.....did I fry the motherboard?

Okay I'm here, no worries.
First off, on the cold cathode kit did you use the inverter or did you try to ***** rig the light straight to the PSU? Also did you try this while it was running or off? |
