seriously if you want to build a great single stack 1911 (which is quite a bit more involved than a AR as there is a lot more hand fitting) I built my first one about 15 years ago and all the tools I had were files and sandpaper it took me about 3 months to get everything fit properly and it cost me $275 I sold it about 5 years ago (hit a rough patch) for $550 now I have a lug cutter, hammer sear jigs, dremmel tools, air files, drill press, etc etc and I can knock one out in a few days but I have built dozens it is a good project and there is nothing like a well built 1911 I'm sending off my para to be refinished and the new one I'm thinking of buying a electroless nickle setup and trying my hand at that if it works well I will be doing a few of mine and a whole lot of my friends guns

serious price for a decent tactical carry ultra reliable 1911 600-800$ buying one already built from clark, wilson, kimber, 1000-2500$

If you just want a starter complete pistol look at rock island armory you can pick these up for right at $500 in blue and they are G.I. spec so you can mod the shit outta it but still is fun to shoot Very Happy

Are you following me around on XDTalk.com !? I swear ... Today in the AR section someone has posted this damn link three times. It's been out for a while and they are taking forever to ship out. I'm thinking about just having someone do some laser engraving on one of mine so that way I can put something of my own on it.
