Got to agree with the F man here. Bang the drum to knock it free, clean all the dust off with break cleaner and adjust the star till just before they contact the drum.
Drum breaks will last 100k before you actually need new pads. IMO forcing the piston back into the caliper is a bigger PITA then cleaning and adjusting drums.
That said I think drums suck for other reasons

ive used a C-clamp and old brake pad once on my buddys car. |

I'm not saying discs are harder/easier but shit man. They are fucking drum brakes! The shit was invented in like fucking 1899 or some shit. If drum brakes own you, you lose 7 man points!

drums take me maybe, 2x as long as a disk, but then again I have been changing them since I was 12 or so

And I use to work on my cars all the time. But I have gotten lazy over the years and refuse to work on any vehicle. I wont even change my oil.
