Carquest Blue pads are recommended and considerably cut back on the insane amount of dust stock Ford pads are criticized for.

Truth be told anything that is a semi-metallic will be a decent cheap pad for everyday driving. Should be able to find them for 17-25 a pair at your local car parts store.

I threw on pads in the driveway in an hour, really is a pretty easy job.

It amazes me the insane labor rates mechanics charge to throw on pads.

You can turn your rotors if you really want to do everything perfectly but it is a hassle and takes much more time.

I didnt bother

I need to get rotors turned and new pads Sad.

Worst part is getting the rotors to a place to get them turned

x2, most of the times Ford rotors are really only good for 1 cut.

I check the surface and if the pedal is not pulsing and I have no visible gouges I will let it go.

I'm still on my originals, but when the time comes I think I'm going for the Wagoner Thermo Quiets.
They're known for low dusting as well.

I replaced the pads at 43,000 and am sitting on 88,888 today and they still look pretty beefy. I put on the Raybestos mid grades.

We have a meskin mechanic at our company that maintains the trucks and small engine stuff. Im going to pay him like $100 to do all four of my pads. Hopefully he can do it on his lunch break or after work.

that sounds fair, my friends buy all the stuff and i put it on for $50. but that is for one axel

it's a hell of a deal because i make a quick buck and the stupid shop that changes oil, air filter, adds coolant, and changes wiperblades and charges you for all that without even asking doesn't get paid to do it.
