my buddys dad's coworker is getting rid of his 4.56's and getting 4.88's selling me 4.56's with under 3,000 miles for only 100 bucks yukon gears. My buddy n his dad are gonna help me install. and his dad said....if that doesnt drop your 0-60 2 full seconds i will hand you the keys to my 2001 ford excurtion 7.3L Diesel Razz

so it should be fun ill take pics and what not woohoo...good bye 3.55's hello 4.56's maybe now my 4.6L will get off its ass when i step on the go fast pedal Shocked

Yeah if you want to be pulling like 3500 revs on the highway in OD.

Looking at a 28% difference in number of RPM's needed to maintain the same speed as now.

4.6 w/3.55 should be doing about 1600-1700 at 60 mph, 4.56 would bump you up to around 2048 - 2,178.

On your trans third gear is a 1:1 and OD is a 0.7:1

So turn off OD and you will be within 2% of what the truck will perform like after the gears. See how you like it for a day and go from there.

At 70...well what my speedo says is 70 im at 2100RPM in over drive. so it should be fun Smile

you only get gears if you have bigger tires or your a drag racing car. For normal driving on regular sized tires it kind of sucks. Your going to spend more gas and put more wear and tear on the engine.

70 in OD is at 2100rpm without od its at like 2500 or 2700.

ill only use more gas if im on the express way....i do most of my driving in the city it should help my 4.6 get off its ass a lil faster.
